Buying a used car usually means checking the mileage, service history, tires and overall condition. But one important detail often gets overlooked: the keys. Receiving one working key does not tell you how many keys the vehicle still recognizes – or where the others might be.

Getting a spare solves the backup problem, but simply adding another key does not necessarily remove the old ones.
